Before being elected as Alex Rider, the main character of the 2006 film Stormbreaker, also acted in several plays and television series.

Pettyfer was born in Stevenage , Hertfordshire , the son of Lee Ireland ( née Robinson ) , an interior designer sweaters , and Richard Pettyfer , an actor .
It has a half-brother , James Ireland , a young tennis player, the remarriage of his mother to Michael Ireland , a property developer .
Pettyfer was raised in Windsor , began her modeling career at the age of seven, for Gap , after meeting Ralph Lauren in a toy store in New York City .
As a school , acted in plays , including the role of Willy Wonka in the production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, also participated in the play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs doing a dwarf . Pettyfer was educated at two independent primary schools : The Mall School, a small school in Twickenham and then Lambrook Haileybury school in Berkshire.
He subsequently attended two other independent schools : Millfield School in Street, Somerset and Shiplake College near Henley -on- Thames in Oxfordshire. After his GCSEs , he left Shiplake College and attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School, an independent school for drama.
